Megatrend University Welcomes Exchange Students from UCF., Orlando Florida USA
Megatrend University, Serbia and the University of Central Florida the 5th largest State University in the USA have signed and executed a General Agreement for Academic Cooperation, which will open the doors for many students from Serbia and Florida to practice International Exchange and many new opportunities for Students.
MEGATREND International Expert Consortium Limited, London is a consulting-educational organization, founded in 1980, out of which ‘Megatrend’ education group’ was developed in Yugoslavia. The first institution in this system was Megatrend Business School, founded in 1989. This school was later to be the founder of other institutions (9 faculties and 6 colleges) which are today integral parts of Megatrend University of Applied Sciences. During 1991 Megatrend Business School, in cooperation with Technical Faculty of Bor, carried out a project of organization of postgraduate studies in management. This project, the first of its kind in this part of Europe at the time, was financed from the Tempus funds of European Union, aimed at development of business education. This success encouraged further spreading of Megatrend business network. Educational system of the time lacked institutions which would provide similar kind of education, so that the foundation of Megatrend schools was welcomed with enthusiasm and interest. Students at Megatrend University have an opportunity to learn from the world renowned professors, using the most modern literature. This university provides them with knowledge necessary to set up their career in business and economy. Many of our students are today renowned experts themselves and are the best guarantee for the quality of Megatrend University.
Faculties of Megatrend University offer specialized and master studies in several academic and scientific disciplines (more information on the terms of enrollment could be found at university web-site, version in Serbian).
Besides these primary activities, Megatrend University has also developed cooperation with many academic institutions around the world. Such cooperation not only increases overall educational level, but also offers our students the possibility of studying abroad within attractive programmes. In February 1997 Megatrend Business School signed an agreement on cooperation with L'Ecole Superieure de Commerce from Grenoble, France, which enabled direct transfer of students of all school-members of our university to the school in France, the exchange of students during their studies, as well as further education at master and doctorate levels. Similar agreements were signed with the following institutions: Seconda Universita Degli Studi di Napoli, Berlin University of applied sciences, Yanbian University of Science and Technology from China, Bournemouth University from the UK, Ecole de Management from Grenoble, European School of Business from Rome, Faculty of Economics within National University from Donjeck, Ukraine, and "Elit" Academy from Moscow. In the autumn of 1999 Megatrend University of Applied Sciences became the full member of the global university network NEWS (North-East-West-South), the members of which are universities worldwide. All Megatrend University institutions are also EAMSA (Euro-Asia Management Studies Association) members, the only association for management studies in the world.
Megatrend keeps following new technologies, development of information systems and new methods of gaining knowledge. It adapts its curricula and courses to the new trends, developing its teaching and lectures through which our students prepare for their future business and life achievements.
In January 2003 became a member of the Serbian Association of Universities.
Megatrend Virtual University (MTVU), University Television - TV Metropolis, a library and a developed publishing activity are all integral parts of Megatrend University.
In June 2009 Megatrend University has signed to open Administrative Campus in the USA, Orlando Florida.
